Spotlighting the sentiment

I spotlighted the sentiment on this card. I stamped it using chocolate chip ink onto white cardstock. I then added the dandelion image around it, and stamping off once, right over the sentiment. I am stretching the technique challenge by using a dp that is newspaper looking, I hope, as the largest panel. The card is kraft. I added two rhinestones to the centers of the puffs on the sentiment panel. Thanks for looking.

Tuesday, March 22, 2011

I created this card by stamping this new image from Rubbernecker onto white cs using Rich Cocoa Memento ink and coloring with Copic markers. The sentiment is stamped with the rich cocoa ink. I rounded two of the corners and matted with Regal Rose card stock. The color challenge had a dessert option to add things starting with the letter "P". So, I added "Pearls" to the image panel. The card front is Pear Pizazz and I added "Panels" of "Purple" "Polka Dot" "Paper". I then added "Plaid" ribbon and bow with a "Pearl" for the center.

I need to make a lot of these cards. Even though I make lots of cards, I forget to send them! Anyone else have that problem? lol Ridiculous, but true.

For this one, I stamped the corset image onto pink parchment cardstock using brown ink and cut it out. That is mounted onto a brown circle embossed with Textile Textures cb folder and then onto a pink parchment circle and a brown scalloped circle. The square panel is also the pink parchment and faux stitching around the edges. I stamped the sentiment with brown ink. I also embossed the bottom of the card front. I cut a rectangle of the same pink parchment for the inside of the card, punching the bottom and then adding the little flourish from the stamp set at each scallop and the rest of the sentiment near the top of that panel.

Beautiful Tulips

You know, I just love these tulips. Anyone can make such a fabulous card with these images. I created a rather simple card, but I think it is still so striking. My sweet daughter got this stamp set for me, not too long ago and I'm so grateful. I think it is one I will keep forever. It's perfect for so many occasions. Thanks Wendy dear.

The tulips are two-step stamps. I used Regal Rose and Rose Red inks for them. The stems are stamped using Versa Color Bamboo ink. The sentiment is by Rubbernecker and is perfect for so many different occasions, don't you think? I stamped that using the Rose Red ink. It would have been just fine just like that, but I decided to add an organdy bow which was heated just a little.

I hope you have a wonderful day. Thanks so much for stopping by.

Showing you another new stamp

Here is a card showing another of the new stamps released by Rubbernecker. What a simple and quick card, but I like how it turned out. The largest panel is a flocked paper by 7 Gypsies. The flower is by Prima. The sentiment and butterfly image on it are from a new set just released by Rubbernecker called Bud Tree Set. I love the fonts used on it. The whole set is great. Be sure to check it out. SKU 505

The sentiment is stamped onto white cardstock using Victorian Velvet Distress ink. I then cut/embossed it using Spellbinders Lacey Circle die and before removing it, I airbrushed it with Copic R85 – Rose Red. I then used a Krylon Silver Leafing pen around the edges. The next panel is stamped with the new Round Floral Frame stamp using Victorian Velvet ink. The corners were embellished by punching with the Martha Stewart Swirling Lace corner punch. That is mounted onto the Rose Red card front (4-1/2” square) and rhinestones added to each corner. The sentiment panel is popped up with foam tape. To finish it off, I added the bow at the top of the card.
Stamps used: Round Floral Frame 558, Worthwhile Ride Text 232 SO

The butterfly is stamped using Distress Vintage Photo ink and clear embossed. Shimmer was added to the wings with AtYou pen and dazzling diamonds glitter was added to the body. The sentiment is also stamped and embossed in the same way before being cut/embossed using a Spellbinders Labels Eleven die. The embossed rim was colored with a Copic marker. The papers are by Kaiser Scrapbook. I added ribbon which has the edges colored with the same Copic marker and some trim added to the bottom of the card.

Here is another of the new stamps being released Tuesday, March 15 called Ivy Frame. For this card, I stamped the new image Ivy Frame onto white card stock using Forest Moss Distress Ink. FRIDAY, March 11, 2011-Fish You Were Here

What cute images for fish you will find in this set. This is just one of 4 fishies, not to mention the cute sentiments to go along with them. I didn't use one on the front of this card . . . there just wasn't room.

I stamped the image and clear embossed it before coloring with Copic markers. I then cut/embossed it with a Spellbinders Classic Inverted Scalloped Circles, then I left it in the die, masked it and airbrushed the blue around the image. I mounted that onto a white circle which was stamped with the seaweedy stuff (that's the technical term). The card is a shaped one, which is cut/embossed using Spellbinders Beaded circle die with all that mounted onto the front. I then covered the image with crystal effects and sprinkled it with dazzling diamonds while it was still wet. It makes it look wet, don't you think? And you can never have too much sparkle.

Thursday, February 10, 2011-Grandma's Boudior

I really wanted this card to look like an antique purse. What do you think? Did it work? Can you see it as a purse?

The sentiment is stamped onto the designer paper which is cut/embossed with Spellbinders Labels Eight. I added the purple panel which is cut/embossed with Spellbinders Labels Ten. The cameo is stamped onto vanilla card stock using Brilliance Pearlescent Chocolate ink and cut/embossed using Spellbinders Labels Ten and used a Copic marker around the edges. I punched a hole in the top and added the silk ribbon bow. I used my sewing machine to stitch the lace to the botton and added gold cord for the handle.

WEDNESDAY, March 9, 2011-African Veldt

Here are two cards I created with the set. The giraffe card is more of the traditional way to use these stamps with the more real colors. The pink elephant just makes me giggle. As a child my Dad would tell me to look at the pink elephants on the ceiling and then tickle me under my chin. hee hee hee So, you see, you can use this set in a more unconventional way as well as with the wild animal theme.

TUESDAY March 8, 2011- Just Dandy

For the dandelion image, I inked the stamp with versamark ink, then colored the stem and leaves with a marker, stamped the image and then added white embossing powder and heat embossed the fluff. I added the white picket fence border to the right side of the blue pane. I punched the word window on the left side of the panel. The word hello is stamped onto the yellow panel and aligned with that hole. That is mounted onto the green card stock and then another square of the blue. I punched the three butterflies and stamped the fluff part of the flower onto them with versamark and embossed with clear to give the wings a little texture. Look closely and you can see it. The card is a 4-1/4" squaare.
Here is another card using this set and one of the wonderful sentiments:

Our family has grown!

Introducing our newest member of the family - Joshua. This was taken about 48 hours after his birth. Isn't he adorable? He has a good hair of head - it looks blonde. What a little miracle. He was born 5 weeks early, but is doing really well. He weighed 5 Lbs. 7 oz. at birth.

Oh yeah, that's me holding him. I love new babies.

Wednesday, February 23, 2011

I really like bees. Well, on paper anyway - not buzzing around me. I think they are so cute. These bee images are in a new set called Happy Pansies - from Mark's Finest Papers . The set also includes images of pansies and some wonderful sentiments.

I wanted to try something different with these stamps. The sentiment is all on one stamp, so I used a marker to ink just the bee and the bee (lol) for one of the squares and the bee and the well for another. I also inked the tiny bee from that stamp and added it to the bigger bee which is a stand alone stamp. They are stamped onto the yellow cardstock with black ink and cut/embossed using Spellbinders Labels Twelve. I then mounted those onto the black squares so they would really pop. The dp looks like cells from a beehive, don't you think? It is from Chatterbox. I added the yellow gingham ribbon and a flower charm (also from MFP). The top of the card is embossed with a Cuttlebug Frills border folder.

33 cents

This image from Mark's Finest Papers was stamped onto white cs with black memento ink and colored with Copic markers. that was mounted onto the always artichoke and a perfect plum layer. The card is rose red and I used the negative from a scalloped oval. I added the dessert with the hardware frame around the sentiment, which I'm sorry you can't read in the photo. It says hello there. I added some artichoke organdy ribbon and heated with my heat gun. I also added some purple rhinestones.

Now this may not look like a child's birthday card to you, but it really is. My dgd is turning 9 and she loves loves loves flowers and she loves loves loves blue right now, so I made this with her in mind. I've seen blue daisies before, I'm sure.

The daisy image is stamped with blac ink and colored with Copic markers and adhered to the front of the card three times. For the lower right hand corner, I cut through all layers of the card front and the card, stamped and colored the image again. I stamped Happy Birthday on the inside of the card. The organdy bow (from MFP) was heated and the center is a rhinestone brad. I also hung a charm (airbrushed with Copic markers and a flower soft center and available from MFP) from the bow. Look closely, you will see it.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great Friday!

Thursday, February 17, 2011

I stamped the image onto white cs and with black ink and clear embossed before cutting/embossing and then airbrushing with Copic Markers. That is matted with navy cs and mounted onto the card front which is also dp. The sentiment is stamped onto dp and clear embossed, cut/embossed, rhinestones and an organdy bow added. I colored the embossed edge of the sentiment panel with a Copic marker to appear layered. The rhinestone brad on the bow is actually blue, though it doesn't appear that way in the photo.

Wednesday, February 16, 2011

I saw a great paper at the flower bee store the other day. That is what my grandson used to call Michaels or JoAnns or any other craft store. He would cry and say, "No! I don't want to go to the flower bee store!" lol lol lol

I liked the monochromatic look of the paper with flowers on it so used that as my inspiration. I stamped the images onto Sahara Sand card stock with Pumice Stone distress ink. I used two different backgrounds and the flower image - all from Rubbernecker. The card front is embossed with a Siizzix folder. Each panel is matted with Basic Gray cardstock.

Stamps: Rubbernecker Wildflower BKG 447, French Script BKG 448, Floral 496-11

I wanted to share my pansy card with you. Interesting colors, aren't they? I tried something a little different by inking the image stamp with versamark and then Pacific Blue ink, stamping and embossing with clear ep. I then colored the image with Copic markers and cut/embossed with Spellbinders Labels Three die. I added the Fancy Tags cut from the Pacific Blue cardstock. I cut it in half so it would accent the top and the bottom of the image panel. The card front is Wild Wasabi which is embossed with the Sizzix bricked folder and then accented with white craft ink and the edges distressed. I added the silk ribbon bow with the brad in the center.

The stamp is from Rubbernecker Pansies 506-04

Thanks for stopping by! See you again soon.

FRIDAY, February 11, 2011-He is the Lamb

For this card, I stamped the lily image onto the white cardstock and embossed with white embossing powder. It is subtle, but oh so elegant. You can click on the picture to make it larger and see the embossing. Oh so pretty. Next I stamped the sentiment onto the blue card stock and cut/embossed using Spellbinders Fancy Tags. That just wasn't enough, so I added the bow using a beautiful ribbon from MFP as well as the gorgeous hatpin in the center of the bow. Hop on over to Mark's Finest Papers and get this lovely stamp set, some of this elegant ribbon and these gorgeous hatpins!!!!

Now how cute is this little duck? Love it! He has cute little duck feet too, but I wanted to make it look like he is swimming. I used the blue scalloped trim to look like water. It is cut/embossed with Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Border Petites. I colored the image with Copic markers and stamped the sentiment with a blue ink to match the water border. I also added some blue and white baker's twine (available at MFP) and buttons above the image panel with a little striped dp added to the top of the card.

TUESDAY February 8, 2011- Greet the Day with Gerber
Here is one of my creations using this fun new set. I love these daisies and the sentiments are awesome too! And what is better with yellow daisies than a blue gingham check? Doesn't this just scream spring?

I stamped the image using Rich Cocoa Memento ink and colored with Copic markers. I then cut/embossed it using Spellbinders Labels Four. The card is this great heavy cardstock from Mark's Finest Papers, then I added the panel of the blue and white gingham check and the blue borders made with a Martha Stewart Swirling Lace punch. The sentiment was backed with the blue and added to the bottom. I ten added the polka dot organdy ribbon, button and the fabulous blue and white baker's twine. You can get all that at Mark's Finest Papers. Too cute!

Now go and check out these other great creations!

Oh my goodness!

Wow, it has been a while since I posted. Sorry about that, but moving has taken it's toll on my old body! I sure have collected a lot of "stuff" that had to be organized and packed. I got all that done, then had to move it and now I am in the midst of unpacking it all. Remind me to never ever move again!

So, here are a few cards I've finally gotten the time to create, and I actually found the tools I needed to create them!

I love this new sentiment I recently got from Rubbernecker. I do amuse myself all the time. I stamped the sentiment using Barn Door distress ink onto white, cutting/embossing with a Spellbinders oval and mounting that on the black scalloped oval. I love the ruffled red gingham ribbon, don't you? That is mounted onto the ladybug paper from The Paper Company Studio and then onto the red cardstock.

I created this card for my new grandson's baby shower. I stamped the image with brown Memento ink and then colored with copic markers. The image was cut/embossed using Spellbinders Labels Eleven. To mat that, the chocolate cardstock was embossed with the next larger size of the same die. I added blue dew drops to each corner before mounting to the blue layer and then the white card front. The brown gingham bow finishes it off.

For this card, I stamped the darling dress form image from Mark's Finest Papers using Black Memento Ink and then coloring with Copic Markers. I really wanted to make this a simple card and one that can go right into the mail without extra postage, so I stamped the cute buttons using all the different rainbow color inks. The sentiment is also stamped with the black ink and then the yellow band was added to the bottom of the front of the card. Such a cute, cute image and I love the sentiments included in the set "Sew What" as well.

Here is one more. This one is using an image and sentiment from Rubbernecker as well - Smiles and thinks of you 504-06, and Wild Garden Border 1 515-01. The garden image was stamped with white craft ink and then heat embossed with white ep. I then sponged on ink the color of the card stock and then at the bottom a darker blue for a gradient look. It's subtle, but I like it. I then added the sentiment stamped with the dark blue and then punched the three butterflies, using a Martha Stewart punch out of a swirled vellum and added them. I backed the whole card with the dark blue card stock to really make it pop.

Thanks for stopping by! Come again soon. Now go and have a great day! I hope that will include stamping!

Emily-

Karen-

For this card I chose the single teapot and stamped with black ink then clear embossed before coloring with Copic markers. I then detail cut it out. It is popped up onto a red beaded oval. I put black dots into each of the "beads" with my black marker. That is mounted onto the black card front which is embossed with a Sizzix folder. I added the dangle red and white gingham check ribbon and black with white dots organdy which was heated for more dimension. Don't forget to peek inside for a look at just one of the cute sentiments that comes in the set.

For this card, I stamped the image and sentiment using Vintage Photo Distress ink. I sponged the edges of the dress panel with the same ink before mounting onto the brown card stock which has the corners punched with the wrought iron corner punch. I used the Fleur de Lis border punch along the bottom of the main panel. The sentiment is punched with a word window punch and mounted onto a punched oval. The purple card front is embossed with the Cuttlebug Textile Texture folder. The beautiful trim is also from Mark's Finest Papers and was machine stitched onto the purple panel. I stitched all the way around the panel. I just had to with the theme of this stamp set.
