Laughter is

an instant vacation!

I made the sentiment the focus on this card. I began by stamping the sentiment onto white card stock using Festive Berries distress ink and cut/embossed using Deckled Rectangles by Spellbinders. The layer behind it is cut/embossed using Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Rectangles. I added a corner cut from the dp I used on the bottom of the card with Spellbinders Antique Frame and Accents. I added a rhinestone for a little bling. A double bow is used as an embellishment.

Kindness

How do you like these colors together? In my book, you can't go wrong with purples and pinks. This is for the color challenge on SCS and the dessert option is stripes. I added stripes! Can you see them? They are embossed in the background. I used an embossing folder which has the flourish and the lines. Clever, don't you think? hee hee hee The image was inked with markers and stamped three times onto the white cs, then cut/embossed with Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Rectangles. I backed it with just a small rectangle of the melon card stock. I added a few flourishes cut with Cuttlebug Vintage Squares and added a few punched flowers too.

I hope you like it. Thanks for looking!

Rubbernecker Mother's Day Hop

My Mother has passed away, so I can't send her a Mother's Day card, but I can and will certainly be thinking of her on Mother's Day. This sentiment was perfect for my card. In case you can't read it, it says, "If I had a flower for every time I thought of you, I could walk in my garden forever."

I stamped the roses image onto shimmery white card stock, added a little color with markers and cut the image out. Using a craft knife, I cut around a few of the petals. I then attached it to the Webster's Pages designer paper using foam squares to pop up those petals I had cut around. I also used a few small glue dots to hold down the image around that so the dimension would really show up. I stamped the sentiment onto the dp using Aged Mahogany distress ink and clear embossed. I then mounted all that onto a Rose Red card front. I colored a length of seam binding and some white lace with Copic markers and alcohol and added that to the corner of the card. You have to have lace and ribbon on a Mother's Day card, right?

Making a mother's day card really made me think of my Mother and miss her. I can't give her this card, but I made it for her anyway. I kept it very simple, stamping the image and sentiment using versamark ink onto the pink card stock and embossing with white. I added the pink ribbon with just a knot and then added the beaded stick pin.

Thanks so much for looking! I hope you enjoy the rest of the stops along the way today.

Living out west, as I do, this stamp reminded me of the beautiful mountain ranges on the horizons. I am still awed by the sight every day. I love it. I stamped the image using Faded Jeans distress ink and added a little bit of Elegant Eggplant and greyed the horse and cactus just a little bit. I then tore the edges of the paper to create the different mountain ranges and again sponged on the purple. That's how they look to me in real life. The card base is the darker blue. I then added the twine, adding more of the color with my ink pad to the blue one. A simple one layer card. I hope you like it. Thanks so much for stopping by! I really love lighthouse images so this set is one of my favorites. I kept it fairly simple by stamping the image with Barn Door ink onto a white panel. I don't know why lighthouses also make me think of picket fences, but they do, so I added one I cut with a die. I popped it up with foam tape to add dimension. I then stamped the sentiment using red onto a small piece of white card stock and popped that up over the fence. The white panel is framed with a red piece of card stock and then adhered onto the white card front.

Yellow daisies

I love this sentiment. In case you can't read it, it says, Be the kind of woman that when her feet hit the floor each morning the devil says, "Oh crap, she's up!" I hope I am that kind of woman. I know many women that are that kind of woman.

I cropped the daisy image for today's technique challenge and put it in the center of the pendant. I used the same stamp for the background on the white panel, just stamping it repeatedly on the white card stock using Rich Cocoa Memento ink. I then sponged the edges with So Saffron ink and mounted that onto the brown. The main image is colored with Copic markers. I thought the brown gingham ribbon was perfect with the daisies.

Thanks for stopping by!

Red Work Chickens

Here is another card made with this new set being released next week by Mark's Finest Papers a Heinrich Company. It is called Flaps my Wattles. Don't you love it? hee hee hee

This is a super simple card to make. I just stamped the chicken images using red ink onto white card stock and then mounted onto the red. The white circle is Quickutz Antique Doily which was cut from white card stock and then embossed with the Textile Texture folder. Don't you just love it all mounted onto the red dot paper? So cute. The sentiment is also from the new set, punched with ovals and popped up.

Happy Birthday Old Cluck

This card is created using a new set (sneak peek) being released next week by MFP called Flaps My Wattles. hee hee I inked the images with Barn Door Distress ink and stamped, then colored with markers. The polka dot stamp at the bottom is inked with pool party. That stamp is also included in the set. On the inside I continued the sentiment by stamping "You're no spring chicken". Such a funny sentiment - at least if you are younger than the person you are giving it to. lol

Blue and white - so fresh

I created this card today and love the fresh clean look of it. It is a case of Harriet's card and to honor her as the Featured Stamper this week on SCS.

I changed the image and the embossing folder at the top, and the ribbon is a new one I just got. I love how fresh it looks. The image is stamped onto white cs using Faded Jeans distress ink stamped off once. The image panel was then cut/embossed with Spellbinders Deckle Rectangles and popped up onto the light blue rectangle. The bottom of the large panel is embossed with Flourish Journal and the top with Birthday Set 2.

Congratulations Harriet. Enjoy the spotlight!

Thanks for stopping by!

How about some roses?

I love the rose images in this new set by Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company. The first card shows the large blossom, but done in a very clean and simple way. I stamped the image twice at the top of the card and the sentiment at the bottom right with Victorian Velvet distress ink. I cut/embossed the lower edge with Spellbinders Classic Triple Scallop die. I then added the seam binding which was dyed with the ink and added a half pearl for a little bling.

I really love how the next one turned out. I even pulled out some dusty old hardware from my stash. It wasn't really dusty, but hasn't been used in quite a while. I love the hardware frame for the sentiment. I even added some of the light pink to it with a Copic marker to coordinate with the rose panel a little more. Isn't that nice? I love that you can do that with Copic markers.

The rose image is stamped onto vellum card stock and added to the pink panel which is cut/embossed with Spellbinders Lacey Square. The card front is embossed with Sizzix Corners Damask folder. Isn't that pretty?

Thanks for stopping by! Hugs to you!
