Fitful Friday.

So, you know how you think, I know it's late, but this will be a simple card I can whip out in no time. Well, it was a figment of my imagination late last night when I saw Jen's SCS challenge to use just one flower stamp on a card. How hard could that be? lol Really hard. I don't know why, but this card gave me fits at every turn. I nearly threw it out the window when I went to mount the image panel onto the card base and did it upside down! ARRRRRGGGGHHHHHH! How aggravating. I lovingly ripped it off the stupid card base and stuck it down the right way. Sheesh, it was done, and good riddance! Oh my word! Such a time I had with this card. After a little sleep, I can look back on it and still like the card in spite of the challenge it was to me. I hope you like it too.

I hope you have a great Friday!

Inspired by music!

So, today's challenge on SCS was to be inspired by music. I really wanted to use this new stamp being released by Treehouse stamps on March 7, and the song that immediately came to my head was . . . Tiptoe through the Tulips. Now, or course the one singing it was Tiny Tim from back in the day. He was on Laugh-In as well as The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. If you are too young to remember this, here is a link to the video. I must warn you, once you see it, it will be indelibly etched on your brain. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=skU-jBFzXl0

Hard to believe such a thing could inspire such a beautiful card. I love these tulips. I colored them with WWC and then went over them with pastels. I love the look this leaves on a colored image. I matted it on black for some pop and then onto the regal rose. All of this was mounted onto the barely banana background which was embossed with my cuttlebug embossing folder, birds and swirls. Doesn't it just say spring to you? I love spring flowers, and tulips are some of my favorites. Did you know they continue to grow, even after they are cut! Isn't that bizarre? They are awesome flowers.

I hope you enjoy my card. I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Happy Cupcake!

Another sneak peek at an image coming out from Treehouse stamps on March 7th. Who doesn't love a cupcake? Take a look at this little cutie! The image was colored with watercolor crayons, then I added crystal effects for that shiny icing and stickles for some bling on that cherry on top! Oh baby! Don't you just want to lick that delicious little bit? Mmmmmmm.

Be sure to check out Treehouse Stamps on the 7th of March! Lots of new stamps are being released that day! And keep watching here. You never know what might pop up.

Color Challenge Black, Rock, White

This color challenge is great for creating elegant cards. Here is what I came up with today. It was so fast and easy.

Mix it up Monday!

So, today's challenge on SCS was to mix it up - mix two or more designer paper patterns. What fun! I made two cards for the challenge today.

The first one is a sneak peek of a new stamp coming out March 7th from Treehouse stamps. I absolutely love the tree, don't you? The sentiment I chose to go with it is fabulous too, and is another Treehouse stamp. Stay tuned to see more images in the next few days. You're gonna love them. There is a link to the Treehouse website on the left side of this page, so check them out!

The next one uses some bright fun papers, that are just perfect for a party, don't you think? It needed a little something unexpected, so I popped on some curling ribbon and shredded it. I love the look. Doesn't it just scream party?

I just had to make a card today for a very special friend, and this is what I came up with. The card base is basic gray, and then the next layer is cuttlebug embossed with the floral fantasy folder and a strip of the Heart Blocks folder. The flower was stamped with basic gray ink and then versamark and heat embossed with clear ep and cut out. I layered on a circle of rose red cs, a punched out flower and then a 1/4" circle of the same dp the flower was stamped onto. I had to add a little bling with just a pinch of dazzling diamonds. The sentiment was stamped with rose red ink and given a faux layer with the rose red marker and a bit more dazzling diamonds. A girl can never have too much bling! I love how it turned out and hope my friend will too! Thanks for stopping by!

I love this card. I just got the swiss dot cuttlebug folder, so I had to use it. This is a window card, with the cherries stamped on the inside. I handwrote the sentiment and used my new striped ribbon. The cherries are clear embossed to really pop. How do you like it?
So, I haven't gotten into the habit of updating my blog yet, and quite frankly, I forget about it since it is so new. Well, I forget a lot of things, but . . . let's not go there right now. lol

I was gone for a couple of days this week attending a funeral for a cousin. I have 58 first cousin's on that side of my family. Now there are only 50 living. I love my family. It made me appreciate them even more. One of my brothers and my sister went with me. It was great to visit with them. We don't take the time to do that often enough.

I have stamped a few cards since I got back. I'll have to see if I remember how to upload them. lol
