This one uses Wild Garden Corner 539-01

539-04 Wild Garden Corner 01

I don’t often use orange, but I really like it on this card. The card base is orange cardstock which was embossed with a Sizzix Happy Birthday folder and the corners rounded. The next layer is green to match the greenery in the image just cut in a square to really show off the main panel with those lacey edges. I colored the stamp with markers and then stamped onto white card stock before cutting/embossing with Spellbinders Lacey Squares. I added a little yellow shimmer to the centers of the flowers with an AtYou pen. The sentiment is only part of a sentiment, inked with a marker to omit the rest of it. That is from the Butterflies are Free set 538. I stamped onto the orange cardstock using pumpkin pie ink and that is matted with pumpkin pie cardstock before being adhered to the white Lacey Square. To embellish, I punched a 1/4” circle from the green cardstock and adhered the shimmery orange dome to that before adding it to the top of the sentiment panel. I also added three loops of the green ribbon for some balance.

Thanks for looking.

Orange can be such a difficult color to showcase and you've done it very well, Karen! I love the lacey square border and how you did the sentiment panel, too. Pretty card!

I'm not really an orange person either, but it sure is a WOW factor on this beauty. I love the lacy square and how you did the sentiment.

A person doesn't usually think of orange as being a feminine and dainty colour to use but I love your card and it is certainly both dainty and feminine! Love it.
Thanks for sharing! :)
