Sneak Peeks continue

Ooops, I didn't post the sail boat card yesterday, so I will add two today using different stamp sets. I used the same color scheme on both, so they go together well enough. Red, white and blue is such a great color combo and looks so fresh and cool for summer. It's certainly summer here in Phoenix - triple digits already! June is usually the hottest month, so I guess it is understandable.

This card features the set Island Life. I think this image is perfect for masculine cards, which can be challenging to create. I stamped the sail boat image using Chipped Sapphire distress ink onto the white card. I then added the sentiment using red ink. I added a textured panel (embossed) created with red and blue and a bit of knotted twine as an embellishment. The entire card is mounted onto a blue rectangle.

Manly yes, but I like it too.

This one features the set Welcome Poppies. I created a frame by stamping the poppy in red  and then cutt/embossing the frame using two sizes of Spellbinders Labels Four dies. I attached that to the blue gingham card front. I then added an organdy ribbon and bow treatment to the upper left corner with a red dew drop to the center of the bow.

I hope you like these cards and the stamp sets! I'm lovin' them.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sneak Peek II

And here is another sneak peek of a set being released next week called Silly Shells. The card stock is also from MFP and is a very soft shell pink appropriately enough. I stamped the shell image onto it using Victorian Velvet distress ink and then water coloring with the same ink. I stamped it again and cut out the one shell and popped it up on the corner. The swirls are from an EK Success punch and added to the square which is embossed with Spellbinders Mystic M-bossabilities folder and sponged with more of the Victorian Velvet ink. The sentiment (also from the set) is stamped onto the lower right corner of the card front.
Thanks for stopping by! Don't forget next week is the blog hop! You won't want to miss it!

Sneak Peeks

I get to show you sneak peeks of the new sets being released next week by Mark's Finest Papers a Heinrich Company!!!! Ooooo, you are going to want them all. They are wonderful.

Here is my first sneak peek!

This card features the new set Welcome Poppies. I just love poppies. Aren't they happy flowers? I think so.

I stamped the image with Black Soot distress ink and clear embossed before coloring with markers. I then sponged on some Baja Breeze ink. The frame is cut using Antique Doily and then embossed with Spellbinders Enchanted folder before popping up on the white card front. The sentiment is stamped onto Baja Breeze card stock with Versamark and embossed with white powder before being cut with Spellbinders Floral Tags die and added to the card front.

I will have more sneak peeks all week, so be sure to come back!

Laugh Wrinkles

I stamped this fun new image onto a light green card stock using peeled paint distress ink, then added detail with distress markers. I stamped the image again onto garden green card stock using versamark ink and clear embossing. I then fussy cut the frog out and popped it up onto the lily pad. The blue panel is embossed with distressed stripes folder - I think it looks water like.

frog warts

The sentiment is stamped onto the white card stock with peeled paint ink and cut/embossed with a Spellbinders die. I hope you like it. The sentiment is a great one, don't you think? The sentiment and the image are new ones from Rubbernecker.

Vertical Birthday Wish

vertical birthday_edited-1

I inked the stamps (new ones from Rubbernecker) with markers before stamping. I love finding a good vertical sentiment. They seem harder to find, but I thought it worked well on this card. The top corner is punched so the mat layer of the card shows through more. Very CAS and mailable.

Stamps: Happy birthday set large SKU 625, Floral #1 SKU 608-01

New Stamps, New Inks!

tlc cas_edited-2

I love these new stamps and distress ink colors. I brayered the three colors onto a small square of glossy card stock, stamped the flower image (new) over the three colors using Black Soot ink. I then embossed with clear embossing powder cuz that ink takes a while to dry on glossy card stock and smears. Ask me how I know! Next it is mounted onto the peacock color card stock. The card is a nice lemony yellow to match the ink. I stamped the sentiment (from a new Rubbernecker set of sentiments!) using the Peacock Feather ink (and my stamp a ma jig to get it straight) onto the card front. I then cut off 1/2" of the yellow and added the purple border.

Stamps: New from Rubbernecker: Best Wishes Sentiment Set SKU 600, Floral #1 SKU 608-01

Paper: Glossy white, Lemonade yellow, peacock blue and lilac

Ink: Black Soot, Peacock Feathers, Squeezed Lemonade, Shaded Lilac

Here is my card:
Flourish 2_edited-2

The flourish which I will call a ***VINE*** today, is inked with Peeled Paint Distress ink and stamped onto the white card front. I then popped up the flower and added a glittery center. The sentiment is stamped with Victorian Velvet Distress ink. The edge of the card is punched with EK Success Scroll Pattern Punch. I added Liquid Pearls White Opal to the centers of the small punched flowers and also here and there on the scroll punched edge.
Stamps: Phrase Set 626, Flourish #2 611-02
HOP ROUTE:
Here is a little bonus for you. I created this card this morning. I stamped the rose using London Fog Memento ink and then watercolored using my new Distress markers and a watercolor brush. I then stamped the flourishes (***VINE***) along the edges with Versasmark ink and embossing with white powder. I then sponged on a bit more of the distress inks to pop the embossing a little bit. The sentiment is stamped using Vintage Photo ink. I added the ribbon as Mary did, but just a bow rather than a flower. The card front is mounted onto a darker pink. It really does match much better irl than it does in my photo. Isn't that disappointing? Stamps: Phrase Set 626, Single Leaf Rose 531-01, Flourish #2 611-02

Flamingos on Vacation Featured May 18
I created a scene for this lovely diva flamingo by airbrushing the sand and water with my Copic markers and adding the waves with a white distress marker. The tree was inked with markers and stamped onto white before fancy cutting and adding to the beach. I stamped the palm fronds twice and cut out three of them to pop up giving it a bit more dimension. The beautiful flamingo was stamped onto a rose colored card stock and I used the white distress marker to highlight the floral pattern on her. I even added some eyelashes. lol Tiny pearls were added to the pattern on her body too. I think she is so cute. I then added the bon voyage sentiment on the lower corner using a darker blue ink.

I created the hills by tearing the designer paper and sponging the edges with Vintage Photo ink. I them mounted them onto the light blue card stock and stamped the tree image with Vintage Photo ink and clear embossing. I added the brown picket fence, and added cut out stones that are also in the set. The butterfly was stamped onto glossy card stock and embossed with gold embossing powder. I then colored it in with Copic markers, cut out and popped up on the fence.

I used just one of the sentiments from the new set on this card. It is stamped with blue ink onto glossy card stock before cutting/embossing with Spellbinders oval die. The star was cut with a Spellbinders star die and then embossed with the Cuttlebug Paisley folder. I outlined the edges with a dark blue marker to give it a little more definition. The card front is divided by using two different designer papers and adding brads at the seam. I also added lots of brads to the star and ribbon tails to the sentiment panel.

I inked the single daisy image from the set with markers before stamping onto white card stock. I then colored it in lightly with Copic markers. Do you see that cute little lady bug on the leaf? It's just under the bow! Love that! The panel is embossed with the Swiss Dots folder before mounting onto a black panel cut/embossed with Spellbinders Deckle Edge Rectangles. I used a slot punch in the left side to thread the ribbon through. The panel behind the daisy has the right side punched with the EK Success Scroll Pattern punch and then mounted onto another piece of black to make it pop up from the background paper. That panel is embossed with the Stylized Flowers folder for a little more interest and dimension. I added the gingham bow (ribbon from MFP) using mini glue dots to hold the tails right where I wanted them. As a finishing touch I added Ice Stickles in Orange Peel to the center of the daisy. Sneak Peek Daisy Birthday

SC_edited-2

Don’t these colors just shout spring? They do to me. I love these colors, they are so light and fresh looking.

This is a sneak peek of another new set being released next week. I started with the main panel which is glossy card stock. I stamped the daisy image onto it with Versamark ink and embossed with white powder. I them sponged on Tumbled Glass distress ink and mounted onto the blue card stock. For the card front, I repeatedly stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment onto white card stock and a piece of dp from Pink Paislee's Spring Jubilee. The yellow dp is from the same pack. I then embossed the blue and white panels with the Heart Blocks folder and the yellow panel with Happy Birthday folder. I added a ribbon and a bow with a rhinestone brad and some clear rhinestones to the daisy panel.

Father's Day Fishing

Today starts our preview week of new stamps being released next week by Mark's Finest Papers a Heinrich Co. For this card, I used the new set "Get Reel". If you have a fisherman in your life, you will want this fun new set. I used one of the silhouette images on this card, stamping with Black Memento ink onto the blue card stock. The sentiment which is also in the set is stamped onto the kraft colored card stock using Pacific Point ink and clear embossed.

Daisies and birthday

Ooooo, new stamps are in the house. Rubbernecker has just released a bunch of wonderful new stamps. How inspiring! I used two of them on this card.

SC383_edited-2

I stamped the journal flourish circle using Pumice Stone distress ink onto white card stock. I then colored the daisies with Copic markers. The sentiment is stamped using Seedless Preserves Distress ink and clear embossed. I colored the brads with a matching Copic marker and added them to three of the corners. I used a ribbon for the horizontal panel. I added some of the purple to the daisy with the same Copic marker and also one of the colored brads to the center.

Pink Daffodils

Are there pink daffodils in nature, or are they only yellow? Hmmmm, I don't know, but all is fair in stamping. I wanted pink daffodils, so I have pink daffodils. This was created for a challenge on SCS to use things we used way back when we first started stamping. We couldn't use some of the newer items we use now. NO EMBOSSING, NO DIE CUTS, NO PEARLS, NO SEWING. So, I pulled out the old eyelets, I used black ink to stamp the image and used a marker to draw the border on the image panel. I haven't used eyelets much in the last few years, but they were BIG when I started. This stamp set is new - one of the new releases from MFP called Daffodil Greetings. Thanks for stopping by!

Saturday, April 21, 2012

I created this card by casing a card by one of my Stampin' Sisters, Charlene. Isn't it pretty with these lovely papers? I stitched a lot on this one too. Stamps: Garden Phrase Set SKU 508 by Rubbernecker Paper: DP's London Market by Pink Paislee Thanks for stopping by!

Stampin' Sisterhood Father's Day Hop

Hey, hey, hey, welcome to Rubbernecker's Stampin' Sisterhood Father's Day Blog Hop! My card is more of a any time masculine card, don't you think?

I stamped the image using Vintage Photo distress ink and then colored with Copic Markers. I added the double grass border (I used both the positive and the negative) which is sponged with Peeled Paint distress ink for a little more texture on the grass. The main panel is matted with a darker green card stock.

Stamps: The Stories I Could 582-20, Ralph Fishing 562-20

My card details:
I love the look of rolling hills made out of designer papers and thought it would be a perfect backdrop for this cute train. I chose very unconventional colors for a train, but really like the look. I think the one train car is filled with cotton candy! Oh baby!

I stamped the image onto white card stock using black memento ink and then colored with Copic markers using colors from the floral paper. I cut the hill shapes with a rotary cutter and then sewed the top edges of each hill. The train is cut out and popped up with foam tape and squares. I do love the fact that these stamps are so easy to shape, so I took advantage of that and stamped the Sorry This Is Late sentiment, matching the shape of the hill and using Lavender Lace ink. I cut stencils from scrap paper and sponged on the clouds with white craft ink.

On the inside, I covered the stitching with a panel of purple paper and stamped the same train image onto it using the Lavender Lace ink. I embossed both the top and bottom edges of the panel with Frills border embossing folder. I then stamped the other part of the sentiment to the bottom inside of the card. It reads: My Train of Thought Keep Derailing! Ha ha ha, that is a sentiment I will be using quite often!
I hope you like this card!

Oooooo, that would hurt! lol This sentiment and the barbed wire images are from this new set called Hey Cowboy. I put the two sentiment stamps with the smaller barbed wire image in the center all together on my acrylic block, inked with Rusty Hinge distress ink and stamped onto the white card stock. I then stamped the larger image of barbed wire around the edges to create a frame for the sentiment and sponged the edges of that panel with the Rusty Hinge ink. I matted it with the dark brown card stock and added brads to all four corners. The rust colored panels are embossed with the Cuttlebug stars folder and inked with Vintage Photo ink before cutting into strips and weaving them for the border on the brown card front.

Thanks for looking!

I just love the cheery look of daffodils and they bring a smile with this sweet sentiment. I stamped the image of the daffodils with Pumice Stone distress ink so it would be a very subtle line. I then colored the image with Copic markers. The sentiment was inked with Versamark ink and then the green before stamping and then heat embossing with clear embossing powder. Don't you love the beautiful doily look at the top and bottom? I used Spellbinders Romantic Rectangles for both. I cut just about 1/4" off the bottom of the card and the cut the Romantic Rectangle long side and added it to the bottom of the card. I then cut the short edge of the rectangle and added it to the top of the card, making sure I got the beautiful corners on the card. I added yellow ribbon around the card and tied a bow. I hope it brings a smile to your face.

Here is one more card I made with the set! Thanks so much for looking!

Mark's Finest Papers

There are such cute dogs and sentiments in this new set. For this card, I kept it very simple. The cute dog is stamped onto the white card front with black ink and only his tongue sticking out is colored. I then stamped the sentiment with red ink and added the die cut picket fence. A little red gingham ribbon (also from MFP) and black card stock backing and it is all finished.

Big Dog Birthday

This background is a new to me technique called Magical Masking tape. You take a length of masking tape and ink the sticky side and apply it to glossy card stock, press down (applying the ink to your card stock) then removing the tape, leaving only the ink. I used two different inks, Rusty Hinge and Vintage Photo and applied in stripes. I then stamped over that with the dog image and the Happy Birthday sentiment using black ink. The other sentiment is stamped onto white card stock using the Rusty Hinge ink, matted with black and popped up. I added a small piece of ribbon, knotted in a very masculine way, don't you think? Hee hee hee These stamps are from a new set "Fabulous Dogs" being released tomorrow by Mark's Finest Papers a Heinrich Co. Be sure to come back and enjoy the blog hop!!! You might win a prize!

Ruffles and Flowers

Hi! Welcome to my blog. Thanks so much for stopping by!

I cut/embossed the flowers from two different patterns of red paper, layered them and added them as in the sketch challenge this week, adding dimension with foam squares. The ribbon is ruffled. Isn't it cute? I stamped the sentiment directly onto the card front with barn door distress ink.

The butterfly and the sentiment are a sneak peek of a new set being released next week by Mark's Finest Papers called Daffodil Greetings. The butterfly was stamped onto white card stock with barn door distress ink and clear embossed before being cut out and added as one of the elements of the sketch. I added some faux stitching to the corners.
