I stamped the beautiful floral heart using versamark ink on white cardstock and embossed with white ep. This was cut/embossed using Spellbinders Labels Ten. I colored in the image with copic markers and airbrushed the edges leaving the die in place to leave the white edge. I then used my marker to carefully edge the panel. This is popped up onto a piece of designer paper (unknown). The back pink panel was randomly stamped with three of the other stamps from the set using a deeper red ink. The corners were punched with the Martha Stewart Swirling Lace punch. The card is Rose Red cardstock. I added a bow of organdy ribbon (also avialable from MFP) which was heated with my heat gun to give it more texture, and a glitter brad added to the center.

Sneak Peek!

There are new stamps on the horizon and this is showing some of them from the set called Hello Sunshine. I think these are so versatile. This sentiment could be used for an invitation or a thank you for a wonderful evening with friends. I chose the thanks, as you will see on the inside. Mark's Finest Papers new release blog hop begins next Tuesday, Dec. 7! Mark your calendar.

The main image is stamped with versamark and night of navy ink on white cs and clear embossed. That is matted with yellow cs before being mounted onto the gingham square. The sentiment is stamped the same way and then cut/embossed with Spellbinders ovals. I added some AtYou Spica Lemon dots around the white oval. I wanted a fun ribbon to go with this, but didn't have anything appropriate in my stash, so I created some "ribbon" loops by cutting a very narrow strip of the paper and creating my loops before adhering them to the back of the oval and popping it up. The yellow paper is embossed with the cuttlebug folder.

I am also showing you a paper saving tip which I like to use.



I matted the blue gingham paper with night of navy cs, but before mounting it, I stamped another stamp several times on the center of that square using versamark ink and clear embossing. Then I punched the star from that embossed piece to use on the inside.


The inside of the card is embellished with more of the embossed yellow paper and that embossed star I cut from the navy mat.

Non-traditional colors for a holiday card

Here is a Christmas card I created using fairly non-traditional colors, but I really like the way it turned out. How do you like it?

I stamped the image (from Mark's Finest Papers) using Memento Black ink before coloring with Copic Markers. The green strip was airbrushed using a mask for a little texture and then adhered to the Baja Breeze panel which is stamped with the holly and airbrushed around the edges before mounting onto the Perfect Plum card. I added silver for the holly berries on the soldier stamp and then silver ribbon and cord to the green strip.

Silver Bells and Silver Ribbons

I tried a new to me technique to create the background for this card. It's called W.I.S.H. Fun, huh? You cut three sides off of a zip loc bag and then scribble water soluble markers all over the inside of one side. I used SU! markers in four shades of blue spritzed with water and then smooshed to create my background. I wanted more color after the first time, so I remarkered it but this time I used glimmer mist for the H2O. It is so pretty and shimmery. My image - from Rubbernecker - didn't show up well enough for me, so I stamped it again with the versamark and embossed it with silver ep. The corners and bottom border are punched with a swirling lace punch. I added the bow created with two different silver ribbons. I hope you like it!

This is a 5-1/2" square tag on which I used the smoosh technique with reinkers and gold glimmer mist to create the background. I then stamped the other wonderful images from the set using versamark ink and embossing with gold detail embossing powder. The music was stamped onto vanilla card stock with Vintage Photo distress ink and the edges torn and distressed and then sponged with more of the ink. It was also spritzed with gold glimmer mist. I added shapes in the upper corners which were cut/embossed with Spellbinders Doodle Parts from a lovely shimmery cardstock. The sentiment is stamped with versamark ink and gold embossed before cutting/embossing with Spellbinders oval die and popped up onto the Fancy Tag shape. I added soem lovely ribbons and heated the gold organdy ribbon to curl it a bit.

Here is the card I created to showcase the new Welcome Home set. I just love this set. Lighthouses can be used for so many wonderful cards. For this one, I stamped the image onto vanilla card stock and colored with Copic Markers. I sponged light blue around the lighthouse to give it a sky look and then shadowed and sponged the lower portion with a caramel color. I then cut/embossed the image with an oval Spellbinders die then did the cracked glass technique on it. I rubbed in more brown and blue inks to get into the cracks so you could see them better. I then mounted that onto the light brown cardstock which was cut/embossed with Spellbinders Beaded Ovals die and I sponged on the darker brown using the die as a stencil. That is popped up on the blue cardstock. I added a strip of the brown cardstock behind the blue which was cut/embossed with Spellbinders Fancy Tags and then the sentiment was stamped with brown ink and popped up. I added the lace and ribbon bow and the lighthouse charm. All the supplies for this card can be found on the Mark's Finest Papers website. I love that lace.

Two of my cards are featured on Mark's Finest Papers Blog today, but even though my blog isn't on today's hop, I did want to share these two creations I made using the new sets featured today. I hope you don't mind.

Winter Scene

I wanted to share this card with you. It is not a simple one - at least it wasn't the day I created it. One thing after another and the first one went into the garbage can after I was putting the finishing touches on it when my paint pen went "goosh" and left a huge splotch of gold paint on it. Grrrrrr! So aggravating. I tried to save it, but . . . nope, it was hopeless. Sniff sniff!

This is a sneak peek of a set being released Tuesday - called Bells on Bobtail by Mark's Finest Papers. I love the vintage look of it, don't you?

So, I created this one by using a light blue cardstock, stamping the tree (from A Walk in the Woods) over and over using two shades of green - Distress Ink in Forest Moss and Shabby Shutters. Wanting the winter look, I inked the same stamp with a versamarker here and there and since the stamps are clear, stamped again, trying to align the stamp. I then embossed with white embossing powder. I used the same tree stamp and the same method to create the snowy ground. I like the look it gives - not being a solid white mass. I heated that white powder again and added just a bit of iridescent ice ep to give it a little shimmer.

The sleigh image was stamped onto white card stock with Distress Vintage Photo ink and clear embossed before being colored with watercolor crayons and a wet brush. I then carefully cut out the image and added the snow to the bottom of the sleigh. I also added the red holly berries to the garland around the horse's neck with red stickles. The sentiment is stamped with the Forest Moss ink and punched out, then a marker used to color the edges. I added the green gingham bow and mounted the scene onto the Always Artichoke card stock. I'm happy with the results. What do you think?

Using the set Bells On Bobtail, I created these tags by stamping the jingle bells (oh, I love jingle bells!) using Versamark ink then coloring in with Copic markers. I sprayed gold glimmer mist over the entire tag and then added the sentiment stamped in red.



The Brick Wall set is really fun and versatile. For this card, I stamped the brick wall image onto a brick colored card stock then distressed the edges of the panel with a distressing tool and sponging of inks. I then stamped the vine image using versamark ink and embossing with white embossing powder. I colored the embossed vine with pastels, then went back and colored the flowers with purple Smooch and a little gold smooch in the cneters. The butterflies were stamped onto a smoosh created piece of cardstock and embossed with black before cutting out and adding a little more gold smooch. The brick image is mounted onto brown. The butterflies on the brick wall are popped up. I created the purple mat by stamping the vine image with versamark and embossing with clear embossing powder. All that is mounted onto the green card which is an uneven gate fold. I added the luscious purple bow to highlight the brick panel. Simple Joy

This card is a really simple one with just one layer and the sentiment. I stamped the image (from Rubbernecker) using versamark ink onto the dark green card stock and embossed with copper embossing powder. The lower portion is embossed with the Cuttlebug Holly Ribbons folder and the copper cord tied around. I stamped and embossed just the word joy from the sentiment stamp which says Joy to the World and embossed it before punching and mounting onto the copper shimmery card stock which is also punched with an oval. So simple, but quite stunning, if I do say so myself. What do you think?

Christmas Cactus

Living in Phoenix, this is the state Christmas tree. Just kidding! But some people do put lights on the cactus around here. I'm not a big fan of cactus. I like to stay as far away from it as possible.

I inked the image with markers before stamping. I then embossed the star with gold embossing powder. I also colored in the image with Copic markers, then added stickles to the lights and to the star. It really sparkles in real life. That image was cut/embossed with Spellbinders Deckled Edge die and mounted onto the green Spellbinders Beaded Oval shape which was airbrushed through the die to bring out the beads. That is popped up onto the old olive card front. The sentiment is stamped with versamark and embossed with gold detail embossing powder.

Speaking of snowflakes!

Okay, so no one was speaking of snowflakes, but I needed a segway here. lol

I used the same sketch for yesterday's card for this one, keeping it monochromatic for that frosty look. What do you think? Does it look frosty? The biggest card front panel was inked with versamark ink and adding more of the iridescent ice embossing powder to not only the snowflakes but to all the edges as well. I like how that looks.

The images of the snowflakes are stamped with versamark onto the light blue card stock and embossed with iridescent ice embossing powder before mounting each panel onto white card stock. For the snowflake embellishment, I embossed a square onto a scrap of white cs before punching the snowflake (two layers) and adding the rhinestone brad to the center.

This is a sneak peek of one of the new sets called Musical Holiday. The French horn and the music score are both images in the set. Does anything say Christmas more than music? I love Christmas music and would like to play it all year long, but I resist. However, it can start before Halloween in my house. lol


For this card, I stamped the horn image with versamark and embossed with silver onto white card stock. I colored in theholly leaves and berries with Copic markers and mounted that onto red card stock. I added the red brads and the silver cord bow. That is popped up onto the designer paper panel which is a scrap, so I can't tell you where it is from. The musical score is also a stamp in thsi new set, just stamped with black ink onto the white. The green card front is olive and garden green layered and then embossed with Cuttlebug's Holly Ribbons folder.

This card shows a new stamp from Rubbernecker called daisies. Don't you just love daisies? They are such a happy little flower and . . . what I love about it is that they last so long. My dh gave me some lovely flowers for our anniversary last month and the daisies and carnations lasted a good two weeks! Such a delight.

Such a cute girl!

This card uses paper piecing. Have you tried this technique? It is a great way to use up scraps of beautiful papers. Well, I have lots of scraps to choose from. The image is from Mark's Finest Papers and actually has a pumpkin where I put the sentiment. I just covered it up with the sentiment to change this and make the image even more versatile. Isn't she a cutie? I colored the girl with copic markers, cut/embossed using Spellbinders Labels One and airbrushed the edges.

To paper piece, stamp the image onto your background paper and onto the papers you want to use on it, then cut out the specific areas and adhere them to the main image. Xyron sure makes this part easy. I love my Xyron!

Joy to the world!

Spellbinders dies are perfect for creating frames, which is how I created the one on this card.

The sentiment is a new one from Rubbernecker. I added stars and notes from a Nativity set by Oasis, available from Rubbernecker. They are stamped and embossed with gold ep, which matches the gold glitter on the dark green paper the frame is cut from. I added rhinestones to the centers of all the stars and popped the frame up on the card front which is embossed with Cuttelbug's Holly Ribbon folder, and backing the card with the same dark green cs. The bow is gold organdy ribbon with a little gold metallic added, as well as more rhinestones. I heated the organdy just a little to give it a little curl. I hope you like it.

I am sharing this card I created with these three colors as a challenge on SCS. Baja Breeze, Blushing Bride and Crumb Cake and lace as an option.


Unfortunately, I have a big need for these cards lately. Lots of people in my family are having heart problems! How scary.

I used lace on my card in a different way perhaps, with the Victorian Lace stamp on the card front which is embossed with white ep. I also used the Swirling Lace border punch. The sentiment is stamped with versamark and clear embossed before punching out and layering onto Spellbinders Beaded Circles. The dp is Webster's Pages. I embossed the border punched piece with Holly Ribbons embossing folder to make it look even lacier. I'm calling the colors in the dp as the crumb cake.

Can snowflakes be wrong?

I created this ornament this morning and wanted to share it with you.

Now, red for a snowflake ornament? Why not?

This is a new stamp from Rubbernecker that you just have to have! I love this beauty!

I inked the stamp with white craft ink and then embossed with white ep and added dazzling diamonds, but you can't see that. I then cut it out and attached to two different ribbons.

I am selling my SU! Logo Hooded sweater. It is a great sweater. I really like it, but it is XL and doesn't fit me anymore.

I learned this technique this week and put it to work once again on this card. I really love the way the tree looks.

This time I used it on a buckle card. I stamped the tree using brown ink, then added color with watercolor crayons and making it shimmer by blending using gold glimmer mist for the technique challenge this week. Notice the shrubbery? I inked the same tree with Old Olive ink and generation stamped it for the undergrowth. The sentiment is stamped using rich cocoa ink. I punched the leaves from the cs and then used gold smooch to highlight them before attaching to the main panel. I colored the ribbon with my Copic Marker and sprayed it with the shimmer mist as well, then added the shimmery brad.

Silent Night

I got new stamps from Rubbernecker yesterday and just had to use them to create this card to share with you today.

I inked this beautiful stamp called Snowy Night with Night of Navy ink and stamped onto white card stock. I then cut around the image and scored it at the top to make it fold down. I punched two holes, pulled the organdy ribbon through and tied a bow. I then heated that just a little to give it more texture. I added diamond stickles to the stars. I then inked the sentiments with the navy ink and stamped onto the card. The whole thing is mounted onto navy card stock.

Fabric flower

You know these big old fabric flowers are so popular right now, in the hair or as accessories on clothing. I thought I could make one and have wanted to for a long time. Today, I did it! Wooo hooo.

I cut circles from three different colors of this polyester fabric. You don't have to be very precise in your cutting. I tried using my heat gun to melt the fabrics, but don't waste your time - it doesn't work. hee hee hee I lit a candle and used it as the heat source. I layered all the circles and stitched them together, adding a button to the center.

For the card, I used a chocolate chip base and then the black to mat the going gray card front. The flourish from SU! Baroque Motif was stamped using black craft ink and clear embossed. The sentiment is stamped with chocolate chip ink and clear embossed. The flower is removable to use as an accessory.

Snow, snow, snow!

I love to look out a big window at snow, but only if I am inside by a warm fire and drinking hot chocolate. It's a good thing I live in Phoenix, huh? lol But I do love snowflakes. Today's card features snowflakes.

I stamped the ornament image onto Riding Hood Red cs with versamark and embossed with white ep before cutting out. That is mounted onto a white Spellbinders Snowflake Pendant. The dp is from Daisy Bucket Desings. The sentiment is stamped with the riding hood red ink and punched out. The edge is inked with a chocolate chip marker before being mounted onto the Spellbinders snowflakes. The brown layer of the card front is embossed with the Cuttlebug snowflake folder and mounted onto the riding hood red card.

I stamped the sentiment onto the dp using Old Olive ink before cutting/embossing with the Spellbinders die. I cut/embossed another of the same shape from the Concord Grape cs, split it in half and spread it to mat the main panel. The lower portion of the card front is embossed with the Cuttlebug Textile Texture folder, I added a tiny strip of the concord grape cs and a Cuttlebug flourish. I also added some silk olive ribbon and two ivory buttons which I added color to with a Copic marker.

This is from the new set from Mark’s Finest Papers called Snowman Country. Isn’t he adorable? I have such a love of snowmen and this one is such a cutie. I stamped the image onto white cs with black ink and clear embossed before coloring with Copic Markers. That panel was mounted onto the light blue cs. The card front is stamped with the sentiment from the set and also that cute blue and white checked border is in the set. Love it. The top of that panel is embossed with Cuttlebug Snowflake folder and mounted onto the light blue card. I added the blue bow for a little more fun. I hope you like it!

This darling little girl (from Mark’s Finest Papers Thankful For You) was inked with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and stamped onto Vanilla card stock, then water colored and flicked with those same colors used to paint the image. This was cut/embossed using Spellbinders Labels 3, the edge trimmed off and mounted onto the brown shape. The ribbon and buttons were added and then the image panel was adhered to the blue square before being popped up onto the front of the vanilla card. The sentiment was shaped into the curve, inked with Memento Rich Cocoa Ink and stamped onto the blue cardstock and matted with the brown before being added to the bottom of the card front.

Seasonal Poinsettias & Time to Chill

This tag was created using Mark’s Finest Papers new stamp set – Seasonal Poinsettias and the sentiment from another new set called Time to Chill. The manila tag was colored with the smoosh technique using re-inkers with Tattered Angels Glimmer mist and water. I then stamped the wreath image and the sentiment using versamark ink and embossing with gold detail powder. I then used a craft knife to cut out the center of the wreath. I stamped JOY using versamark ink and Rose Red ink onto another tag and clear embossed it before using foam squares to mount it behind the wreath so the word would show through. I added this luscious bow through the hole of the tag.
This is my creation using the new set - Time to Chill
Is this little penguin cute, or what? I love the ice flows behind him too. I stamped the image onto a flecked natural cs with black ink and clear embossed. I then colored the ice with a Copic marker, cut out and popped up onto the front of this little treat container.

Treat Holder

I created this fairly large treat container using a new set being released next week by Mark's Finest Papers called Snowman Country. I made the container using a 6X12 sheet of cardstock, scoring and folding and then cut the scalloped oval using Spellbinders scalloped oval die. After inking my stamp with versamark and then elegant eggplant ink I stamped the image onto tissue paper and clear embossed. I then used copic markers to add just a bit of color. Can you see the very light blue around the edge of the snowman to give him that icy look? I glued the image to the inside of the container, folded it up, added the sentiment (another sneak peek from the set Bells on Bobtail) and a bow and there you have it.

This is a sneak peek of a new set being released next week by Mark's Finest Papers called Time to Chill. I used these shimmery papers by The Paper Company Studio called Snowflake Corner and Snowflake Swirl. The back is a shimmery white, so I stamped the cute polar bear using black Memento ink and clear embossing before cutting out and popping up on the main panel. The sentiment is stamped onto the same shimmery white paper and the corners rounded before adding to the ribbon panel and adding the bow.

Fall Mums

Happy October! It's the first day of October and it is still going to be over 100 here today! Oh come on! Enough already. I shouldn't have to be listening to my air conditioner running, should I? It's supposed to cool down next week - into the high 80's - ahhhhh, a welcome relief!

In celebration of October, here is my mums card. We lived in the finger lakes region of New York several years ago and really enjoyed autumn there with the colorful leaves, beautiful fall flowers, including mums and acorns falling from the mighty oak tree in the front yard. I do miss that - except for the raking of all those leaves in our HUGE yard. lol

I created the frame by cutting/embossing Spellbinders Beaded Oval and airbrushing, then cutting the oval from the center. I then cut the oval into the So Saffron card front and embossed it with the Cuttlebug folder. I also cut the oval into the Riding Hood Red card front, aligned all of them and adhered them. I added the very vanilla cs to the inside of the card, used my stamp-a-ma-jig to position the stamp and stamped it using versamark ink and gold embossed it before coloring with ink and a wet paintbrush. See that cute acorn charm on the bow?
